…While there’s no doubting that Megadeth fans were holding their collective breath for the iconic thrashers to bring their 20th Anniversary performance of Rust in Peace to our shores, they sure picked an odd line-up of bands to travel around the country with. The No Sleep Til Festival had already been weaving its way around the perimeter of our fair country before it landed at the Sydney Entertainment Quarter on Saturday December 18 and with it came a hodgepodge of acts from the punk and metal worlds – worlds that historically have never gelled very well…

Wicked Wednesdays: FREE High-Resolution Random Textures

15 Dec

Welcome to our last Wicked Wednesdays texture-fest for 2010! We’ll be taking a couple of weeks off for the xmas holidays and will resume our Wednesday texture extravaganza again early in the new year.

This week’s textures are a random assortment of stuff that will hopefully provide some interest to everyone. It’s like a TV clip show where they bring you a random bunch of crap from the year they couldn’t use elsewhere! The images have been sourced from locations and dates across 2010 and from our travels along the way. You’ll find a wall of humourous bumper stickers, a cheese grater, an old army surplus ammunition box, a collage of stuffed toys from a circus sideshow, a unique glass bowl texture and a small section of a brilliant oil painting that hangs on our office wall.

They’re all FREE for personal and commercial use, however resale, repackaging and redistribution are prohibited and punishable by death. Don’t think we’re kidding!

Feature Photography: Rat Bikes for Best Aussie Choppers Magazine

02 Dec

Our feature photo shoot and article on the Evolution Motorsport custom rat bobber motorcycles has been published in the latest issue of Best Aussie Choppers magazine – an Australian publication that’s distributed nationwide.

The Evolution bikes are all based on inexpensive Japanese small-capacity street bikes that are legal for L and P-platers. Proprietor Paul McKinnon says he was initially influenced by the custom scene in Japan, but is now taking more and more inspiration from the retro bobbers usually powered by more conventional power plants.

Based in Brookvale, NSW Australia, Evolution have a number of completed bikes for sale at very reasonable prices. Conversely, they can build one for you to your own personal specs.

Enjoy the photos and be sure to pick up a copy of Best Aussie Choppers at your local newsstand. CLICK HERE or on the images to see a high-resolution version including FREE desktop wallpapers of the bikes in 1280 resolution!

Photo of the Day: ‘Firewoman’ Triptych

'Firewoman' - Fire Dancing Lady

An older series of photos that I took of my aunt Jane whilst fire dancing at her house in Taree on the Mid-north coast of New South Wales a couple of years ago. There were others, but I like these three together.
