Out now in issue 96 of Street Fords magazine is our photo shoot and feature story on David McGinniss’ 1969 Mercury Cyclone. Powered by a 428ci Cobra Jet big-block and raced on numerous occasions in events like Targa Tasmania, Dennis’ Barlot red monster is an immaculate time capsule of a land barge.
The Cyclone Cobra Jet was advertised in 1969 as boasting 335hp, making it a formidable vehicle to pull up alongside at the lights, or the start line. Originally a homologation model for the late ’60s NASCAR series, it’s a rare beast; especially on this side of the world. Be sure to read all about it in issue 96 of Street Fords magazine – on sale now.
