Feature Car: David McGinniss’ 1969 Mercury Cyclone

12 Jun

Out now in issue 96 of Street Fords magazine is our photo shoot and feature story on David McGinniss’ 1969 Mercury Cyclone. Powered by a 428ci Cobra Jet big-block and raced on numerous occasions in events like Targa Tasmania, Dennis’ Barlot red monster is an immaculate time capsule of a land barge.

The Cyclone Cobra Jet was advertised in 1969 as boasting 335hp, making it a formidable vehicle to pull up alongside at the lights, or the start line. Originally a homologation model for the late ’60s NASCAR series, it’s a rare beast; especially on this side of the world. Be sure to read all about it in issue 96 of Street Fords magazine – on sale now.

As always, we’ve got six FREE desktop wallpaper images for you to view and download and strobist/photography fans can view lighting information and EXIF data by CLICKING HERE or on the thumbnails below, too.
