I shot Paul Knowles’ gorgeous deep-dish VK Commodore down in Canberra back in 2016 for Street Commodores and it appeared in issue 266, which was on sale a couple of months ago. It’s a classic combo, with a stroker Holden V8, Simmons wheels and colour-over-silver Calais-style paintwork. You can’t go wrong with that!

I don’t always know much about the cars that I’m sent to photograph and Daniel Garland’s ’69 Type 3 Volkswagen was one of those. So I was pleasantly surprised when I got to the shoot to find an immaculate, freshly built Type 3 running a twin-turbo Subaru engine! What a machine!

Alex Vines’ HSV VX Senator made it onto the front cover of the last issue of Street Commodores magazine, which was on sale last month. It was the second time I’d been lucky enough to have the Senator in front of my lens – a 550rwhp, Vortech-blown beast with big tubs and deep, deep billets.

I had the pleasure of spending a few hours in the Russo Performance workshop some months ago, committing three of their recent Commodores to ones and zeros for Street Machine magazine’s LSX Tuner special issue. This one, a VZ Holden Commodore SS, makes over 1050hp at the treads thanks to a massive 88mm BW turbo.

Mid-2017 saw me do a three-day, 1000km round trip through NSW’s Central West, including Dubbo, Orange and Bathurst. The weather wasn’t kind, but the local car owners and locations sure were! One such car owner was Bill Sharkey who owns this awesome 1955 Chev Bel Air that was featured in the August issue of Street Machine. How sweet was this old RAAF warehouse!?
