Feature Car: Ross’ HQ Holden One Tonner

13 Nov

We photographed Ross’ tough, nitrous-injected HQ Holden one-tonner utility on the Northern Beaches of Sydney back in 2011. It’s powered by a Holden V8 with a big direct-port nitrous setup that you just know gives this ute a big kick in the pants. It’s full of all the tough gear;  right down to the utilitarian Kirkey race seat that must be hell to endure when cruising on the street.

We’ve got six FREE desktop wallpaper images for you to download and as always, you’ll find our photos on Flickr complete with EXIF data and lighting information. CLICK HERE to view the entire gallery or on the thumbnails below:

Live Gallery: The Casualties @ Manning Bar, Sydney (02.12.11)

12 Feb

Australian Hysteria magazine has just gone on sale with one of our photos of USA’s The Casualties. Sadly is was incorrectly attributed to someone else, but we know it was ours. To celebrate, here’s a selection of 23 images from the gig, supported by The Scam and Topnovil. Pretty sure The Scam were off chops for their set!

We didn’t review the gig, but we can attest to quality performances by both Topnovil and The Casualties. Apparently The Casualties had tried two or three times before to get into the country, but had visa issues due to the singer’s Colombian background. I think the less-than-capacity crowd could attest to the band’s eagerness to make up for the trouble.

100,000 Visits & A Very Merry Xmas from Hosking Industries!

20 Dec

HoskingIndustries.com.au reached a milestone this morning, with 100,000 unique visits, right before what is sure to be a very Merry Xmas! 2011 has been a phenomenal year for us; connecting with a number of new magazine titles such as Modified Mustangs & Fords in the USA and Australian Classic Car. We photographed 70 custom cars and motorcycles, shot a number of great international gigs for web and print and self-published our first (albeit for our own enjoyment) photo book.

We’re very much looking forward to what the new year will bring and hope 2012 brings you all good luck and prosperity as well. A huge thanks to everyone that’s taken the time to seek us out on-line, or who has found us through a search engine and enjoyed their stay. See you in 2012.

Feature Car: Laurie Attard’s Ford Mustang Coupe

08 Dec

Our first photo shoot for America’s Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine has just been published, also featuring our feature story. The subject is Laurie Attard’s awesome DIY Ford Mustang coupe, built almost entirely in his home shed in western Sydney. You can read all about their story in the January 2012 issue, on-sale in the USA now or available online.

Powered by a 347ci Windsor, backed up by a Top Loader and making 415fwhp, this red beastie is all class and owner Laurie can lay claim to completing just about everything himself, including the paint, engine build, fabrication and suspension. We’re stoked we’ve been able to put Laurie and his Mustang on the world’s stage.

If you’re interested, we’ve put the strobist information in each image’s cap ations on our Flickr page, however most of the exterior shots were taken with natural light in this case. Be sure to download the six FREE desktop wallpaper versions of the images. Just CLICK HERE or on the thumbnails below.

We Made a Book! Automotive Photography: The Story So Far…

20 Nov

Hey everyone, just a quick note to show you a preview of our first photo book, self-published through Blurb.com. We really only created and printed a few copies to satisfy ourselves and have a record of the first 12 months of feature car work on our bookshelves; but thought that perhaps, by some stroke of miracle some folks at home might like to own a copy as well. So, we’ve made the book available for purchase via the Blurb website.

Given the fact we ticked all the premium options to make the book look and feel its best, it isn’t a cheap tome, weighing in at almost AUS$200 posted to your door, the 160-page book will probably only interest the owners of the 39 cars featured. But having a sneak peak won’t cost you anything!

Here’s the preview, giving you a look at around 30 pages of the book. We have shot almost 100 cars and bikes in the 12 months since Hosking Industries began doing this line of work, but selected 39 of our favourites. We hope you enjoy the preview and if you’re interested in purchasing this hard cover, bound book, there’s a button for that on the preview, too!
