Feature Car: Adam Cleary’s 427ci 1957 Buick Special

11 Jul

Some cars take a while to be truly ready for a photo shoot. For Adam Cleary’s incredible, air-bagged and big-block powered 1957 Buick Special, that period was a little over two years from the first time I called him to the morning we did the photo shoot. When you do a build this extensive, sometimes there are just some niggling issues that take time to resolve. I like to think the wait was worth it. It was featured in the June 2018 issue of Street Machine.

Our photo shoot on Rob Grabbe’s amazing NRE twin-turbo-powered 1964 Buick Special was in the October issue of Street Machine, which was on sale last month. Ron also has another 1964 Special, which is his dedicated drag car and looks almost identical!

Wicked Wednesdays: FREE High-Res Automotive Stock Images 2

27 Apr

There’s the second in our series of automotive stock photos of classic cars, specifically full frontal images taken as symmetrically as possible without spending all day trying to make them 100% perfect. Although, they’re mostly just about there.

Makes and models include a classic Ford Cortina, Ford Fairlane, 1953 Ford pickup truck, early 1950s Buick, 1958 Chevrolet and more.

As usual, all our textures and stock images are FREE for commercial and personal use, however resale, repackaging and redistribution away from the Hosking Industries website and Flickr account are prohibited. In short, don’t go passing them off as your own or trying to make money off of them by selling them on.

Too Cool: A Rare Look Inside GM's Heritage Centre

29 Apr

The guys at Bangshift scored themselves a real win while attending the Detroit Autorama – a tour of the General Motors Heritage Centre in Sterling Heights, Michigan. This facility houses a breath-taking collection of GM history that is normally closed to the public.

GM’s Heritage Centre opened in the middle of 2004 and brought together a century’s worth of GM vehicles, engines and paraphernalia. Their original press release stated that the centre would ‘help GM employees, scholars, analysts and the media research the company’s past and learn from its rich history as GM moves toward a second century of operation.’

Luckily, one of the Bangshift guys sweet talked their way in and shot more than 300 images, most of which you can see on the BS website HERE.
