Feature Car: Ben Brown’s 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle

05 Mar

Despite a rough start thanks to a half-asses reality TV project build quality, Ben brown turned things around and ended up with a sweet, blown and billet Chevy Chevelle all his own. The 383ci SBC-powered coupe was featured in the January issue of Street Machine and will appear in Super Chevy soon.

Feature Car: Todd Bulkeley’s Datsun 1600 SS Coupe

04 Dec

Another of the vehicles I got to photograph on my trip into NSW’s central west earlier this year was Todd Bulkeley’s amazing Datsun 1600 SSS coupe, as featured in Street Machine. Todd was injured in an accident in the late ’90s that left him in a wheelchair and keen eyes will see the hand controls in the cockpit. The FJ20-powered coupe was good enough to find itself in the Elite hall at Summernats!

Feature Car: The Chop Shop’s FB Holden

12 Dec

Ahh we’ve been waiting to show you our photo shoot on The Chop Shop FB Holden sedan for months! We originally shot the car as a private job for the great guys at The Chop Shop shortly after the 2013 MotorEx ended so they could use the images in their advertising. However, with an impending cover spot coming out in Street Machine magazine, they asked if we could hold off publishing anything.

But now, with their Street Machine cover story now on newsstand shelves, we can show you a few examples from our shoot. The car, built for a customer, is an incredible blend of classic style and modern mumbo. There is a ton of clever engineering going on under the skin of the car and the level of finish is just nuts.

As always, we’ve got a series of FREE desktop wallpaper images for you to enjoy and strobist fans will find our lighting information and EXIF data on each image’s caption, too (although only the detail shots and one of the exteriors used off-camera flash). Feature Car: Frank Kolarik’s 1969 Mustang GT Convertible

18 Jun

The July issue of Modified Mustangs & Fords in the USA recently went on sale, featuring our story and photo shoot on Frank Kolarik’s immaculate 1969 Ford Mustang GT convertible. originally built in Detroit, Frank bought the car late 2010, complete with a lifetime’s worth of trophies and memorabilia from the original owner who no longer wanted any remnant of it left behind.

Flawless from top to bottom, including the highly detailed candy red and metallic white undercarriage, the car has been featured in an American magazine. Kinda funny, in a way. It’s powered by a mild 351ci Windsor and you can read all about it in the July issue, or on the magazine’s website (usually a month or two after the current issue has finished its on-sale period HERE).

For now, enjoy four FREE desktop wallpaper images of Frank’s Mustang. Strobist fans will find lighting info and EXIF data on our Flickr page, too. Just CLICK HERE for the wallpapers and info or on the thumbnails below.
