Cover Car: Nick Ursino’s Holden LH Torana

04 Jan

Our photo shoot on Nick Ursino’s tough LS-powered LH Torana made it onto the front cover of the new issue of Street Holdens magazine (aka Xtreme Holdens), which is on sale now. It’s a minimalist all black and white affair with tons of grunt. It sounds mental, too.

Sneak Peek: Joe Murina’s Ford XY Falcon

09 Dec

Here’s a sneak peek at our photo shoot on Joe Murina’s immaculate, ballsy and trimmed out XY Falcon for Street Fords magazine. Joe runs an excavation business and we shoved the car into his big diesel workshop on a Saturday night and light painted it, encircled by a bunch of car guys who’d stopped in to say ‘Hi’ after an evening’s cruising at Harry’s in Liverpool. Be sure to check out the full shoot when it comes out in an upcoming issue of the magazine.

Feature Car: Stuart Dunbar’s 1929 Model-A Ford

13 Dec

Issue 19 of Heavy Duty Hot Rods (aka Rat Rods & Hot Rods) features our photo shoot and feature story on Stuart Dunbar’s incredible and unique 1929 Model-A Ford Tourer. Powered by a 1949 250ci Buick straight-8 engine, it’s not your usual Model-A and the deeper you dig, the more bespoke it becomes. The best bit is that Stuart, with the help of great car guys like Dave Hart, built it almost entirely at home.

Feature Car: Laurie Attard’s Ford Mustang Coupe

08 Dec

Our first photo shoot for America’s Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine has just been published, also featuring our feature story. The subject is Laurie Attard’s awesome DIY Ford Mustang coupe, built almost entirely in his home shed in western Sydney. You can read all about their story in the January 2012 issue, on-sale in the USA now or available online.

Powered by a 347ci Windsor, backed up by a Top Loader and making 415fwhp, this red beastie is all class and owner Laurie can lay claim to completing just about everything himself, including the paint, engine build, fabrication and suspension. We’re stoked we’ve been able to put Laurie and his Mustang on the world’s stage.

If you’re interested, we’ve put the strobist information in each image’s cap ations on our Flickr page, however most of the exterior shots were taken with natural light in this case. Be sure to download the six FREE desktop wallpaper versions of the images. Just CLICK HERE or on the thumbnails below.
