Feature Cars: Phill Lander’s VW Syncro and Doka

09 Feb

Our photo shoot on Phill Lander’s VW Syncro and Doka is out now in issue 41 of VW Magazine Australia. Be sure to pick up a copy at your local newsagent and check it out.

Phil’s Syncro T3 was bought brand new in 1990 and has a tiny 58,000 original kilometers on the clock! It’s truly a museum piece, despite Phill driving it all over the country when he first bought it. The Doka was a tradies work hack and has couple hundred thousand on the odometer, but you wouldn’t know it. It’s also in pristine condition and drives like a dream.

As always, we’ve got a series of FREE desktop wallpaper images for you to enjoy. Simply CLICK HERE or on the thumbnails below to visit our Flickr page where all the goodies lay in wait for your visit.

Feature Car: The Chop Shop’s FB Holden

12 Dec

Ahh we’ve been waiting to show you our photo shoot on The Chop Shop FB Holden sedan for months! We originally shot the car as a private job for the great guys at The Chop Shop shortly after the 2013 MotorEx ended so they could use the images in their advertising. However, with an impending cover spot coming out in Street Machine magazine, they asked if we could hold off publishing anything.

But now, with their Street Machine cover story now on newsstand shelves, we can show you a few examples from our shoot. The car, built for a customer, is an incredible blend of classic style and modern mumbo. There is a ton of clever engineering going on under the skin of the car and the level of finish is just nuts.

As always, we’ve got a series of FREE desktop wallpaper images for you to enjoy and strobist fans will find our lighting information and EXIF data on each image’s caption, too (although only the detail shots and one of the exteriors used off-camera flash). Simply CLICK HERE or on the thumbnails below to visit our Flickr page where all the goodies lay in wait for your visit.

Feature Car: Shawn Muscat’s 1934 Ford Tourer

20 Sep

We had the pleasure of getting up close and personal with Shawn Muscat’s incredible MotorEx-winning 1934 Ford phantom Vicky tourer when we photographed it for the front cover of the latest issue of Cruzin magazine, which is on sale now. The car is killer from top to bottom, inside and out – and boasts more detail than most cars you’re likely to ever see.

CLICK HERE or on the thumbnails below to view and download six FREE desktop wallpaper images of the Ford! Photography fans will find our EXIF data on each image as well as our lighting information on the detail shots (the main exteriors were shot using only natural lighting). Enjoy!

Feature Car: Michael Timms’ Holden VK Commodore

15 Jul

Issue 212 of Street Commodores is on sale now and includes our photo shoot on Michael Timms’ tough-as Holden VK Commodore, pictured here. Powered by a rebuilt 308ci Holden V8 (something much larger looms on the horizon), Michael’s homage to the mighty Blue Meanie HDT VKs has been built largely in the shed at home and sees plenty of cruising with mates, many of whom also own tough Holdens.

Photo fans will find our EXIF data on each image as well as our lighting information on the detail shots (sorry strobist fans, the exteriors were shot with natural light this time). Enjoy!

Feature Story: Mick Fabar’s Zero’d Falcon in Modified Mustangs & Fords USA

06 Apr

Modified Mustangs & Fords May 2013

We had the pleasure of writing up the feature story on Mick Fabar’s incredible carbon-neutral XR Ford Falcon known as Zero’d for Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine in the USA. The May 2013 issue of the magazine is on sale in America now, flying the flag for Aussie ingenuity and forward thinking.

Powered by a turbo diesel Ford V8 and built using almost 100% recycled parts, as well as offsetting emissions through creating a more environmentally-friendly workshop, the car achieves a carbon-neutral state, despite boasting some amazing fabrication and engineering. Be sure to get your hands on a copy of the magazine to read all about it.
