Feature Car: Daniel Craft’s 1964 EH Holden

16 Jul

We posted an image of the front cover of issue 4 of Holden Heroes magazine this week, featuring images from two of our photo shoots. one of those shoots was of Daniel Craft’s 1964 EH Holden station wagon and we can bring you more samples from that shoot now.

Daniel’s wagon has been built largely at home by Daniel himself – a guy that boasts qualifications in both vehicle mechanics and panel beating. It’s an impressive car and we hope you’ll go check out the whole story in Holden Heroes magazine, which is on sale at newsagents now.

Feature Car: Tony’s 1967 1300 Volkswagen Beetle

14 Nov

Our first photo shoot for VW Magazine Australia came out last week: a feature on Tony’s immaculately restored 1967 1300 Volkswagen Beetle. Photographing unmodified vehicles is certainly something new to Hosking Industries, but we enjoyed the change and the feature looks great.

Tony has a long history of modifying Rotary-powered Mazdas, but with a young family and a few more years under his belt, the Beetle is now the automotive love of his life. Be sure to read the entire story in the November-January issue, which is on sale now.

As always, we’ve got a series of FREE desktop wallpaper images for you to enjoy and strobist fans will find our lighting information and EXIF data on each image’s caption, too (although only the detail shots used off-camera flash). Feature Car: ‘Eleanor’-Inspired Mustang Fastback

06 Nov

We almost fell over when we first saw the cover of issue 16 of Gasoline magazine carrying two of our photo shoots on the front. One of those was this incredible ‘Eleanor’-Inspired Mustang Fastback that was unveiled at the 2013 MotorEx back in July.

The subject of an intensive two-year rebuild that saw the car worked on almost 24/7, there’s very little of the original car left besides some of the core beneath. And watch those body lines, because they’re sharp! Pick up a copy of issue 16 of Gasoline from all good newsagents – and probably some bad ones, too.

Testing, testing: Camera Rig Test on Holden VZ Calais

18 Jun

We thought we’d do one more test shoot with our new Rig Pro car camera rig before offering it for commercial and paid private shoots. Not much to say here, other than giving a happy shout out to car owner Lawrence for donating his time and his sweet LSX-powered VZ Calais for the afternoon. Cheers!

Feature Bike: Adam Pietras’ 2005 Custom Chopper

28 Aug

Issue 18 of Australia’s Hottest Bobbers & Customs (aka Wild Aussie Choppers) is in our hot little hands and includes two feature shoots by Hosking Industries, including this one, of Adam Pietras’ custom 2005 rigid Harley Davidson chopper. Be sure to grab a copy when it goes on sale this September.

Heavily raked, stretched and covered in candy paint and evil clown murals, Adam’s chopper is powered by a modified Evolution vee-twin engine that sounds like Hell is coming to breakfast through its ‘Ground Pounder’ exhaust pipes. Adam says he built the bike largely himself and it features numerous tributes to his late patriarchs, like special engraved DOB and RIP dates, an old Zippo lighter and other meaningful trinkets to keep him company on long cruises. It’s a rigid framed machine with next to no seat padding that must be a kidney killer on anything but baby-ass smooth roads.

As always, we’ve got a stack of FREE desktop wallpaper images for you to view and download on our Flickr page, as well as the usual lighting and EXIF data for the camera fans. Just CLICK HERE or on this thumbnails below to head over.

Feature Cars: Al & Kerry Scott’s 1938/1950 Chevrolets

12 Jul

Not content to own one beautiful street rod, Al & Kerry Scott have at least two gorgeous pre-1950 Chevrolet rods parked on their premises, both lovingly built by Al himself, with another couple on the boil. Pictured here are Al’s two completed machines: a WRX blue 1938 model and a Hothouse green 1950 coupe, both powered by small-blocks. You can read all about both in the extensive feature story in issue 16 of Heavy Duty Hot Rods, which goes on sale this month.

Featuring nice details like shaved handles, slammed suspension (the ’50 uses bags) and neat interiors, they’re a classy pair that prove you don’t need a blue oval on your rod to be cool. As always, we’ve got a selection of FREE desktop wallpaper images for your enjoyment and photographers can check out the details of our lighting setups on our Flickr page, as well as EXIF data. Feature Car: Steven Page’s Turbo Mitsubishi Mirage

10 Apr

Check out the results of our first photo shoot for Hot4s magazine: Steven Page’s awesome turbocharged Mitsubishi Mirage, known as EVOLVN. The blue beast will feature in issue 220 of the magazine, due on sale soon. Hailing from out west, we had Steven meet us in Newcastle for the shoot, taking place on Carrington island amongst all the wonderful old industrial stuff there.

Steve’s Mirage has been seriously hopped up with a turbo setup and improved internals, but it’s perhaps the aesthetics of the Mitsu that sets it apart from just about any other on the road today. Just check out the metal flake blue paint, big billet rims and those outrageous Lambo doors. inside it’s a similar story with blinding white trim accompanying a huge stereo system. be sure to pick up a copy of issue 220 Hot4s when it goes on sale soon.

As always, we’ve included six FREE desktop wallpaper-sized images for you to view and download and strobist fans are treated to all the lighting setup information, as well as our EXIF data by CLICKING HERE or on the thumbnails below.
