Feature Car: Dave Steele’s Holden HQ Monaro

29 Apr

My shoot on Dave Steele’s immaculate HQ LS Monaro was featured in the April 2019 issue of Street Machine. It was the first time I’d light painted a car in a studio environment and I’m pretty chuffed with the way it came out – particularly being a white car in a white room.
Powered by a stout 427ci Dart-based SBC, the car is heavy with attention to detail and sits with its smooth arse well into the weeds (which I love!).

Cover Car: Manuel’s 1971 Holden HQ GTS 350 Monaro

16 Aug

I had the pleasure of not only shooting Manuel’s pristine primarily factory-original 1971 Holden HQ GTS 350 Monaro for Man and Machine magazine, but also shooting it at the HARS facility at Albion Park Airport amongst all the classic aircraft! What a combination! You can see the whole shoot and read the excellent history by Rob Luck in the latest issue on newsstands now.

On newsstands this week is issue 137 of Extreme Street magazine, which features four of our photo shoots and feature stories inside, with our cover shoot on James Tait’s awesome HQ Monaro on the cover! James’ Holden is powered by a 454ci LSX-based V8, aided by a big turbo for ultimate tyre-frying power. And as you can see from the pics, the car is no slouch in that regard.

Feature Car: Ross’ HQ Holden One Tonner

13 Nov

We photographed Ross’ tough, nitrous-injected HQ Holden one-tonner utility on the Northern Beaches of Sydney back in 2011. It’s powered by a Holden V8 with a big direct-port nitrous setup that you just know gives this ute a big kick in the pants. It’s full of all the tough gear;  right down to the utilitarian Kirkey race seat that must be hell to endure when cruising on the street.

We’ve got six FREE desktop wallpaper images for you to download and as always, you’ll find our photos on Flickr complete with EXIF data and lighting information. CLICK HERE to view the entire gallery or on the thumbnails below:
