Wicked Wednesdays: FREE High-Resolution Knitted Wool Stock Images

These are the last of our series on wool and knitted wool texture images and stock photos. You could say they’ve been a progression from raw wool right through to the end product, but that probably won’t make much difference to those making good use of the images.

The scarves feature a combination of garter and stocking stitch with the majority of those shown using pure wool or wool/alpaca blend wool, with the pink knitted piece being acrylic. All were shot with a Canon 7D / 24-70mm f2.8L and lit by bouncing a Speedlite flash off a nearby wall. All our texture images remain in their original high-resolution format.

We certainly aren’t as frequent with our Wicked Wednesday FREE texture image extravaganzas these days, but when we bring ‘em, we reckon we bring to goods. This week we’ve got more wool and knitted texture stock images. Reason being: Ben learned to knit and proceeded to make scarves for his entire family for Xmas 2012. There, it’s said. We hope you agree he did a good job!

This will be our last wool texture-fest until after the new year, but never fear, we’ll have some more cracker shots coming your way after then. For now, you can enjoy another six totally FREE high-resolution texture images of wool – this time in knitted form. The wool is a combination of pure wool and wool/alpaca blends in a typical garter stitch (for all the knitting fans, and Google robots out there). The shots were taken with a Canon 7D (as always), with a single Speedlite flash bounced off a nearby wall for light.

As always, Hosking Industries high-resolution texture images are FREE for personal and commercial use. However, you may not resell, repackage or redistribute these textures or generally pass them off as your own for monetary gain etc. Use them in your design projects, but don’t use them for commercial gain.

I know, I know, right? Two weeks in a row with six high-resolution texture images absolutely FREE?! Boy, do we look after you lot, or what.

When we snapped our brains out taking photos of various balls of wool in various states of being balls of wool, we were lucky enough to grab what we needed for about a month of texture images. So, that means we’ll be able to bring you around another two weeks of these great shots in full resolution. This week’s shots are all of a series of balls who’s yarn changes colour as the ball winds down, for dramatic and cool effects on whatever you’re knitting. It’s like a rainbow of colour on your clothes!

Wicked Wednesdays makes a return this week with a series of six FREE high-resolution textures of wool. There are balls of yarn in various states of use and in different colours, including dark plum, dark grey, black, red, yellow, orange and a couple of cool multiple-colour balls that change as you knit or crochet. The balls vary in type, including wool and silk blends, wool, silk and alpaca and fully synthetic yarns as well. We’ll have more wool-related textures coming through over the coming weeks, including knitted and crocheted sections; so stay tuned.

Our Wicked Wednesdays texture-fests might not be as regular as they once were, but we haven’t forgotten about all out wonderful folks out there that are constantly seeking out new textures and stock images. This week we’ve got a set of six FREE high resolution texture images takes from a local swap meet in Sydney recently. They include objects like brass fittings, paint brushes, hacksaw blades, old Australian coins and caps from mag wheels.

As with all our high-resolution textures, they’re free to use in personal or commercial projects, but MUST NOT be resold or redistributed in any manner without a link back to their original Flickr links here and not sold for commercial gain. Basically, we make no commercial gain from these textures and neither should anyone else… Enjoy and respect.

We don’t often deviate from our commitment to provide you all with free texture images, but when we do, it’s only so we can bring you some free stock images! This week we’ve brought you some FREE high-resolution stock images of Sydney. However, instead of uploading a bunch of cliched shots of the harbour bridge, opera house or other tripe, we thought we’d look for some more uncommon elements of the city and this is what we’ve found.

You’ll see some nice examples of the juxtaposition of old and new building design primarily, but also some other cool stuff we hope you can use either in design projects or perhaps simply as inspiration for a future design project of your own. Enjoy!
