Cover Car: Michael Moit's Ford TD Cortina

I recently got to photograph a bit of a legend on the Sydney car scene from over the last 30 years. Michael Moit’s Ford TD Cortina used to terrorise drag strips like Oran Park where the car would wheelstand thanks to its hi-po Clevo and Windsor V8s – the latter of which took the car to a best of 8.4sec @ 155mph.
It recently scored a new lease on life with a makeover and a twin-turbo conversion for the original Clevo-headed Windsor. Making 850hp, this combo is incredibly considered the test mule before building a more serious bottom end down the track.
The shoot was featured on the cover of the 2020 Street Machine Yearbook.

Feature Car: Shadi Tobaji's Ford TC Cortina

There’s no doubting that a Ford TC Cortina is one of the more unusual choices for a street machine. But when you build one as clean and tough as Shadi Tobaji’s 443ci Dart Windsor-powered sedan, you can’t argue with the validity of his choice! Making a solid 889hp on C85 ethanol-based fuel, this 8sec machine can get the front wheels high into the air if Shadi forgets to fit the wheelie bars!

Shadi’s Ford Cortina was featured in the October 2019 issue of Street Machine.
