Feature Car: Steven Thrift's EH Holden

350ci EFI Small-Block EH Streeter

The NSW Central Coast has always been a hot spot for custom cars and Steven Thrift’s EH Holden sedan is a fine example of the quality street cars that lurk in garages all over the coast.

Wearing a super dark Cherry Black paint scheme, coupled with a black interior and largely blacked-out engine bay, the car is almost sinister. Add to that an injected 350ci small-block that is expected to run 10s and it’s a formidable street car, to be sure.

The shoot was featured in the August 2023 issue of Street Machine.

Cover Car: Joe Tyler's 1964 EH Holden Wagon

I was presented with a fresh challenge for this photo shoot on Joe Tyler’s – one that I’d been meaning to do more of for years: car-to-car tracking shots. The brief was to capture the balls-out, blown 416ci LS3-powered ’64 wagon on the street for the front cover of Street Machine. A ton of research on locations, technique and a borrowed lens with image stabilisation later and this is the result. The car appeared on the front of the October 2019 issue.

I had the pleasure of photographing Jason Spiteri’s tough-as-nails 1964 EH Holden for the January 2019 issue of Street Machine magazine. Powered by a stout 427ci Dart SBC, the car is slammed in the weeds and ready to destroy tyres at a moment’s notice.
