Cover Car: Tim's 1000hp Ford Falcon

1000hp Blown and Injected Cover Star

I got to end the year with a bang, shooting my second front cover in a row for Street Machine magazine. Not yet seen by the public at the time, the car was unveiled at Summernats this month.

Stay tuned for some more images from the shoot soon.

Feature Car: Adam Francica's Ford Fairmont

451ci 825hp Street Weapon

This isn’t the first time Adam Francica’s gorgeous blue Ford Fairmont has been in front of the cameras for Street Machine magazine. It first appeared back in 2007 when Adam was still a teenager.

Plenty has changed since then, with the car undergoing an almost complete rebuild. It now boasts an 825hp naturally-aspirated 451ci Clevor setup and beautiful attention to detail.

I photographed the car in Adam’s then-brand-new shed before any tooling or cabinets had been installed – a rare thing!

The November issue of Street Machine is currently still on sale. Go grab a copy now and read the whole story.

Feature Car: Ossie Fish's Ford Falcon

Miami V8-powered 1969 Ford Falcon

Miami V8 engine conversions into older models is still a pretty rare thing here in Australia. Not sure if it’s the initial cost, but with a Harrop blower mounted on top, the Miami in Ossie Fish’s XW makes a lazy 670hp on PULP.

Kyle’s Conversions did the conversion on the car, which is backed by a Tremec TR6060 manual and a 9in.

The shoot was featured in the May 2023 issue of Street Machine.

Feature Car: Serdar Karabulut's XY Falcon

430ci Small-Block, 855hp XY Falcon

It’s no secret that I’m not shooting as much as I used to, these days. A sad reality of the declining car magazine business model. So it’s always great when my assignments include pristine, fresh builds like Serdar’s Ford XY Falcon.

Powered by a 430ci small-block boasting 855hp at the treads and looking like this, the sedan was a pleasure to shoot. Die-smooth paint and panel, glorious custom billet tunnel ram intake and detail everywhere… sure, it’s still externally looking like a GT clone like most old Falcons, but it has enough personality to keep it interesting.

The shoot was featured in the April issue of Street Machine.

Feature Car: Mick Matthews' Ford XF Falcon

393ci Clevo, Dumped in the Weeds

Built as a tribute to his granddad, Mick Matthews’ Ford XF Falcon is now one of the finest XF Falcons you’ll see in Australia.

From the clinically-clean engine bay with its 393ci Clevo-based power plant to the in-the-weeds stance that’s been achieved through coil-overs and some judicious fab’ work – this is one super clean and inspiring build. …then you step inside.

Stitched Up Custom Trim handled the incredible redesign of the interior, retaining the original vibe of the late-’80s cabin while bringing it thoroughly into the 21st century.

The shoot was featured in the March 2023 issue of Street Machine.

8sec 454ci XA Falcon Street Car

Tony Murr’s Ford XA Falcon was photographed for the May 2022 issue of Street Machine magazine.

It runs a 454ci Clevo, based around an Arrow block with a 1050cfm Pro Systems carb, CNC ported heads and backed by a custom 9in rear with 35-spline axles.

Feature Car: Manuel's Ford XP Falcon

Sweet street cars don’t come much nicer than Manuel Thomason’s Ford XP Falcon. It’s an old-school build: no late-model alloy V8s and no turbos or modern blowers. Instead, what you get is a tunnel ram and twin carbs through the bonnet, ‘small’ 17in alloy rims and about 500hp from its 347ci V8. Plenty enough for any street cruiser.
Best of all, almost the entire build on Manuel Thomason’s Ford XP Falcon was done in the shed you see here by Manuel and his mate Wazza. My photo shoot and feature story on the build was featured in the July 2021 issue of Street Machine magazine.

Feature Car: Danny Probert's Ford XD Falcon

Danny Probert’s Ford XD Falcon has certainly been one of the more original builds I’ve had the task of photographing recently. From the outside it might look like a pretty typical XD Falcon that’s been slammed on its arse. But before long you’ve been pulled into a black hole of detail and clever engineering.
It’s a drift car, so yeah, it’s a bit rough around the edges. Don’t go looking for tidy panel gaps. instead, concentrate on what it DOES have: a 600hp Barra turbo six, ridiculous steering lock, a full cage, no boot floor and custom front and rear suspension (the rear is IRS).
My shoot was featured in the March 2021 issue of Street Machine. For the photography fans, the main exterior shots were lit with a single Godox AD600 through a large strip box, lighting painting with multiple exposures and edited and composited in Lightroom and Photoshop.
