Feature Car: Tony Moit's 1976 Datsun 260Z
While the name of Moits has historically been synonymous with high profile drag racing, the family name also has a rich history when it comes to performance street cars. I photographed Michael Moit’s killer twin-turbo Ford Cortina for the front cover of Street Machine late in 2020 (see it HERE) and recently I travelled back to the Moits Racing workshop to photograph Tony Moit’s 1976 Datsun 260Z.
Both cars have a long history in the family and the scene. This 260z even spent some time acting as the pizza delivery car in the TV show Fat Pizza.
Having recently undergone an extensive restoration and update, the 260z now slays with fresh Sting Red paint, a fresh EFI-controlled 347ci Windsor V8, fresh OE-style interior retrim and those gorgeous Watanabe eight-spoke 17in rims.
The shoot on Tony Moit’s 1976 Datsun 260Z was featured in the April 2021 issue of Street Machine.
