Feature Car: Nathan Stewart's HQ Holden

427ci LS3-Powered HQ Ute

Nathan Stewart’s HQ Holden is one tough street car. Formerly a ‘Roo-chasing paddock basher, it’s now a 427ci LS3-powered beast. Backed by a T400 and a BW rear end with 4.11:1 gears, it’s about as far as you can get from a rusty, weather-beaten workhorse… and there’s no sign of heavy use in its smooth tray, either!

My shoot was featured in the December 2025 issue of Street Machine.

Feature Car: Jason Roberts' 1957 Buick

Blown LS-Powered and Slammed

Buick’s don’t get near as much love amongst the tri-five-loving mobs as do the machines from Chevrolet. But when you see just how gorgeous they can be – like Jason Roberts’ 1957 Buick shown here – you have to wonder why.

Built by the team at Warhorse Motorsport in the Hunter Valley of NSW, this machine is powered by a candy green blown LS3 and backed by a 6L80E. It rides on Slam Specialties airbags and boasts a comfy cream leather trim, too.

My shoot appeared in the December 2025 issue of Street Machine.

Feature Car: Stojan Stekovic's VL Calais

383ci-Holden Powered 'SRB355'

A Holden Commodore/Calais built in the 2000s that isn’t powered by an LSx?! Yep! What’s more, Stojan Stekovic’s VL Calais is powered by an honest-to-jeebus 383ci stroker that’s topped by an iconic HSV twin-throttle intake. It’s like taking a trip back in time, except that the engine bay is finished to such a high standard that SRB355 would have stookd out from the pack even in the early 2000s. Oh, and it makes 500rwhp N/A!

My shoot appeared in the November 2025 issue of Street Machine.

Feature Car: Ben Fink's 1968 Camaro

582ci BBC-Powered SS Camaro

Ben Fink’s 1968 Camaro is a masterpiece. What makes it even better is that he did a ton of work on the car himself. Boasting a monster 582ci BBC, the Camaro makes a lazy 530rwhp and is backed by a T400 and 9in with 3.7:1 gearing.

Details can be found everywhere, including the incredible interior by Brent Parker, subtle BMW metallic pearl grey paint and braced 9in.

The shoot was featured in the October 2025 issue of Street Machine.

Feature Car: Chris & Cindy Murphy's XW Falcon

427ci Windsor-Powered Monster

Naturally-aspirated street cars don’t come much tougher than Chris & Cindy Murphy’s XW Falcon – known as the MNYPIT. Powered by a stonking 427ci Windsor that makes over 600hp, the ute boasts a killer stance and detail everywhere – including the smoothed tray area, gorgeous trim and super tidy braced 9in diff’ and coil-over rear end.

The shoot appeared in the October 2025 issue of Street Machine.

Feature Car: Paul Johnston's VK Commodore

355ci Holden V8-Powered VKBOSS

VK’s don’t come much more delectable than Paul Johnston’s VK Commodore – known as VKBOSS. My shoot on this jewel-like metallic blue VK was featured in the October 2025 issue of Street Machine magazine.

Amongst a sea of LS-powered machines these days, Paul’s VK stands tall with an iconic 355ci Holden V8 that sits amongst a smooth engine bay like an open treasure chest.

Detailed from top to bottom and front to back, this VK really is a boss.

Cover Car: Clayton Gow's Datsun 1200

6.2L LSA-Powered Datto Ute

Datsuns don’t come much crazier than Clyaton Gow’s Datsun 1200 ute. My shoot graced the cover of the October 2025 issue of Street Machine, which in reality is something that’s almost as crazy as the ute itself… a Datto on the cover of Street Machine!?

Powsered by a stonking 6.2L LSA V8 and backed by a T400, this tiny terror is more like a rocket-powered roller skate than a car. With a narrow 9in and big tubs out back, this cartoonish machine really is wild.
